Who or what is God? And what hope can faith in God offer to our world that faces such complex problems, many of them related to the religious vision of God? In his recent book, Jesus’ Abba: the God Who Has Not Failed, leading American theologian, John Cobb, offers an explorations of Jesus’ own view of God and how this God can help us as we navigate the challenges of the 21st century. Cobb is the major interpreter of Process Theology, a source of constructive progressive thought and action—religiously, spiritually, politically and environmentally.

Dr. Jim Goss, retired professor of religion, and Dr. Chris Neufeld-Erdman, pastor, Davis Community Church, will lead the 7-week course, exploring the content of Cobb’s book and implications of our lives and communities. Each class will offer a brief presentation from Dr. Goss and Dr. Neufeld-Erdman, followed by guided conversation/discussion about the content of the weeks’ reading. The book is required reading and can be purchased through The Avid Reader or major online book sources.

We are happy to arrange for child care should you need it! Please contact the office by Wednesday, September 6 at (530)753-2894.
