Earth Care Working Group

Across the world and right here in California, people are choosing to curtail their use of single-use plastics and we’re seeing larger and more concerted efforts to remove plastic from the waste stream.

Right now, California has a chance to tackle plastic pollution in a BIG way. The California State Legislature is considering a package of bills that would reduce the number of single-use food containers, packaging, and products sold in California and require plastic bottles sold in the state to contain a minimum amount of recycled content.

We’re closer than ever to getting this legislation passed and signed into law. But we’re going to need your help over the next month, before the legislative session comes to an end. Send a message to Governor Newsom and your state legislators now and ask them to help reduce plastic pollution in our oceans, waterways, and communities by supporting SB 54/AB 1080 and AB 792.

These important pieces of legislation would help crack down on the destructive plastic pollution that’s polluting our oceans, threatening our health and climate, and harming and even killing sea otters, sea turtles, whales, dolphins, and other marine life. Urge the Governor and your state legislators to help reduce plastic pollution in California to protect our oceans and coastlines!
