Biblical writers imagine trees clapping, mountains skipping, stars singing, and the whole creating longing for wholeness. Modern people dismiss such things as primitive imagining. But were they on to something? In this reading/conversation-based course, Pastor Chris wants to explore a spirituality of Nature and how human beings can come more fully alive to their cooperative and benevolent vocation as conscious beings summoned by the divine to tend the wellbeing of the place around us.
Each class will cover more pages than many of us may be willing to read (see the reader’s guide below for the schedule), but you don’t have to read all of those pages to participate. Each week Pastor Chris will focus our attention on only a few of those pages and two or three of the questions in the reader’s guide. For the first week, we will focus only on questions 1 (pp 3-10), 3 (pp. 11-21), and 6.
