Red Cross Blood Drive: October 30

Davis Community Church is committed to strengthening our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations. This blood drive is our way of giving you an opportunity to help save lives and is especially critical during the current pandemic.

Davis Community Church will host a blood donation event on:
Friday, October 30, 9 AM- 3 PM
Fellowship Hall
421 D Street
Davis, CA 95616

Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished. According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative, and B negative.

We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs. There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life.
You must:

  • You must be in good health and feeling well
  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • You must weigh at least 110 lbs

There is no upper age limit for blood donations.

The Red Cross will do additional screening and will conduct antibody testing for COVID-19.

The Red Cross follows the highest standards of safety and infection control, and additional precautions – including temperature checks, social distancing, and face coverings for donors and staff – have been implemented to help protect the health of all those in attendance. Donors are asked to schedule an appointment prior to arriving at the drive and are required to wear a face covering or mask while at the drive, in alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention public guidance.
