Building & Grounds Ministry

The Mission of the Buildings and Grounds team is to provide a safe and attractive

environment for congregation and community gatherings of many shapes and sizes.

Our beautiful Spanish Colonial Revival-style building on C Street was dedicated in 1926, making it almost 100 years old and a Davis Historic Landmark.

Keeping our buildings and grounds in top shape is our most important responsibility.

Join the Team

Our committee members come from a wide spectrum of age and life experiences that contribute to their skills and enthusiasm for this committee.

We welcome new and returning volunteers, experienced or not, and look forward to sharing some of our more interesting B&G tales!

We meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the library, with a zoom option for those who need to stay at home.

More information is available in the church office. Call (530) 753-2894 or email office@dccpres.org.

Work Days

Our committee members, along with two part-time staff, are always available for improvements and repairs.

Twice a year (spring and fall) we hold all-church work parties with jobs for all ages and abilities. Our Scout troops often participate, as well, which is a great way to connect with these great young people!

These fun mornings help keep our grounds looking trim and tidy, and volunteers are often rewarded with coffee, donuts, and lunch!

Fun Facts

We manage the entire city block between C and D Streets and Fourth and Fifth Streets--no small feat!

Our office building and two education buildings were built in the early 1960s, followed by library, music, scouts, multipurpose room and a commercial kitchen in 1994.

The Buildings and Grounds Committee loves help! Even if you don’t have time to join the committee, you can help from time to time, just contact us and we’ll find you a job!
