Worship Ministry

Many volunteer groups work together to make each worship service welcoming, meaningful, and run smoothly. From preparing the sanctuary and greeting people as they arrive to supporting communion, worship leadership, and other parts of the service, each group plays an important role. If you’re interested in getting involved, please see the contact information for each guild below. All are welcome.

  • LiTURGY GUILD

Each week, a volunteer liturgist helps lead worship alongside the pastor by reading scripture, prayers, and other parts of the service. Serving as a liturgist is a meaningful way to participate in worship and share your voice with the congregation. If you’d like to learn more about becoming a liturgist or sign up for an upcoming Sunday, contact Alf at alf3brandt@gmail.com.

  • FLOWER GUILD

The Flower Guild is a long-standing committee that gives participants a chance to serve the church, meet new people, and have fun. It’s not necessary to be a professional flower arranger! We are eager to welcome people who would like to create small arrangements for the church. Contact Katie at katharine.kingston@gmail.com

  • USHER GUILD

The usher guild is an essential part of each church service. Our job is to greet people, make them feel at home, and answer any questions. When needed, we also help people to find a seat. Contact Gayna at gayna@dcn.org

  • LITURGICAL ARTS

If you’re interested in bringing creativity to worship, this is the team for you. Drama, dance, visual art, crafts, and other creative expressions can help bring scripture, themes, and stories to life in new ways. Whether you have an artistic skill to share or simply want to explore new ideas, you’re welcome to get involved. Contact Heather at heathersmail2023@gmail.com.

  • MUSIC MINISTRY

There are so many ways to contribute music at DCC.

    • Chancel Choir
    • Bell Choir
    • Worship Band
    • Guest musicians
    • C Street Ukulele Band

  • SACRED SPACE

Sacred Space is a contemplative, minimalist gathering held on the second Sunday of each month from 9 to 9:30am in the sanctuary. Through music, reflection, silence, and other contemplative practices, Sacred Space offers a quiet place to slow down, be present, and connect with the sacred. Each month brings a different theme or experience, with plenty of room for stillness and reflection. Contact Michael at mjgcoleman@gmail.com.

  • Communion Guild

The Communion Guild helps prepare everything needed to celebrate communion together. It’s a hands-on ministry: we prepare the elements and set the communion table, and clean up afterward. We ensure everything is ready when the congregation gathers at the table. To get involved, contact Heather at heathersmail2023@gmail.com.
