CHildren And Youth Ministry

Parenting is an EPic Journey

First steps, bedtime stories and big emotions, then friendships, first crushes, college applications, and beyond...

At DCC, we get that, so we strive to support not just our kids and youth, but their whole families.

Sunday School

10:30 am

  • Birth TO 3 YRS OLD

Our littlest attenders enjoy pure playtime with loving caregivers who focus the time to meet each child's needs. Our beautiful children's wing holds loads of age-appropriate toys, books, and art supplies, so your little ones will always find something new to do.

  • 4 and 5 YR oldS

Our preschoolers discover the truth in a Bible story, then put that story into creativity with art! We believe in an active approach to learning, so there's plenty of play time, too! Kids can choose to play indoors in the 4s and 5s room, or head outside to our preschool-sized playground where there's plenty to climb on, sand to dig in, and books to read!

  • 1st and 3rd and 4th THROUGH 6th GRADE

Both age groups start together and kids take turns sharing one thing they did that week, then we transition to acting out the Bible story, and a group game. Then the two age groups break out to do their own age-appropriate crafts, activities, and discussion to really help the story, and the truth of it, stick!

DCC PARENTS+KIDS

A community of families

Parenting in the early years is like an extreme sport. The demands of every day life can be debilitating, disorienting, exhilarating, and hilarious and all before lunch.

At DCC, we do our best to not only have a ministry for our smallest people to connect to each other, but for their families, as well.

The main event is our weekly Sunday School, but we also have special events designed just for families. More info on that below.

Family Events

building community

Our ministry to families goes beyond Sundays. We also have regular special opportunities to connect.

Youth Ministry

7th-12th graders and their parents

We have lots of ways for families with students grades 7-12 to connect:

1) The main event is our youth group: We meet monthly with Davis Progressive Youth Collective, a group of progressive churches who like to hang out together.

2) We also have special events throughout the year that are great to invite new students and friends too.

Family service Saturday

A quarterly family event

Every few months our families get together to serve! We meet in the morning and work 'til lunch. It's a simple way to pass on the value of caring for others. Sometimes we serve a member of DCC at their home, and other times we take on a project for our playground we share with DCCNS, but we always have fun.

Davis Progressive Youth Collection

A Community Space for Youth Seeking to live a faith of Peace and Service

We are a joint youth program between Davis United Methodist Church, Lutheran Church of the Incarnation, Davis Community Church, and St. Martin’s Episcopal.
