Empower Yolo
Empower Yolo is housed at the corner of 5th & D St. on the DCC property. A full range of services are available including for referral to STEAC, application assistance, access to crisis intervention (including domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse), educational programs, legal services and more.

STEAC food project
Your role: Fill a green bag with nonperishable food every two months. That’s all there is to it!
Impact: One full green bag equals about ten meals. We combine your bag with your neighbors’ bags, and together we can feed the community!

Purple Tree Cafe
Purple Tree Cafe is a non-profit organization in Davis, California that creates community-based employment for people with disabilities and brings people with and without disabilities together through food, art, and music. They offer organic coffee and handcrafted vegan and wheat-free baked goods and sponsor music events featuring performers with and without disabilities. Their signature bicycle-driven coffee cart is becoming an icon of our bike-friendly city. They do all their baking right here at DCC's professional kitchen. Buy their tasty treats each week at the Davis Farmers' Market.
The Phoenix Coalition
The mission of the Phoenix Coalition is to gather and engage the Davis community in ongoing efforts to eliminate intolerance, for the purpose of preventing hate motivated violence and thus cultivating a broader civic culture that embraces and promotes all aspects of the city’s diverse community. The Phoenix Coalition raises awareness through events, such as the Davis Pride Festival and Run for Equality, engaging the community in restorative activities, advocating for a prosocial climate in the face of discrimination, and educating the community via the Upstander Carnival.

The Bike campaign
The mission of The Bike Campaign is to reduce car trips to school and workplaces while increasing biking joy and safety. The Bike Campaign, along with its counterpart, The Bike Garage, was founded in 2011 to help educate people about bicycling and encourage more people to ride their bikes. We work closely with city governments, county health departments, school districts, and community service groups. The Bike Garage provides free bikes repairs and used bikes for sale.
The Bike Campaign and The Bike Garage are 501 c3 nonprofits.
Yolo Food Bank
Yolo Food Bank works as a community to meet the food and nutrition needs
of Yolo County. Resources are available through four major
programs:
- Public Community Food Distributions: Provides
groceries to food insecure community members at public distribution
events throughout Yolo County.
- Private Community Food Distributions:
Delivers groceries to low income senior citizens, people with
disabilities, or mobility-restricted neighbors.
- Student Farmers
Market: Farmers markets at preschools, elementary and high schools that
support access to fresh local produce and nutrition education.
- Cultivo: Provides groceries directly to agricultural workers at their home and work.
